Including leg exercises into your muscle building routine is essential if you want to achieve lean, muscular legs. One of the most common body parts that many people target is their thighs. Strong thighs provide many advantages for athletes. Strong thighs give you strength, agility, and quickness. The thighs are the most powerful muscle in the human body and without strong thighs, endurance and stamina are hard to achieve. For a fully proportioned and all-over sculpted body, leg exercises are a must.

Three areas of the legs to target are the quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves. Deep squats are great for working quadriceps. You can also do leg presses, which work the entire leg. Many bodybuilders do leg curls to strengthen and build their hamstrings. These can be done with or without a machine. Calf raises are great for targeting muscle building the calves and can be done in a sitting or standing position. Strong calves help to improve balance and stability. There are many variations of calf exercises to choose from.
